The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for achieving sales objectives through the cultivation of new and existing referral sources. These sources include physicians, institutions (hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, etc.) and allied health professionals, who participate in the provision of prosthetic and orthotic products. Orthotic fitters provide independent patient care through the provision and adjustment of off the shelf and pre-fabricated orthoses, as defined by the ABC Scope of Practice. The certified fitter can be privileged to work under indirect supervision** of a certified orthotist on projects of moderate complexity or of a custom nature. They monitor the patients over time and make any necessary changes to the devices to keep them in good condition.
