The Advanced 3D CAD Technician plays a critical role in using proprietary CAD software to align and modify digital patient scans for custom orthotic and prosthetic devices. This role requires advanced knowledge, the ability to instruct team members, and the expertise to troubleshoot and ensure adherence to quality standards. Advanced technicians work onsite to facilitate, training, and collaboration, contributing to the organization’s mission, vision, and core values.

 

Your Impact

  • Prepare digital positive models for orthotic/prosthetic designs using proprietary CAD software.
  • Interpret information on order forms and apply designated protocols.
  • Train others in CAD software use.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert by sharing design protocols, best practices and clarifying and interpreting written and verbal instructions.
  • Manage workflows via a digital portal to prioritize tasks, process jobs, archive files, and send completed orders to fabrication locations nationwide.
  • Assist clinicians in troubleshooting and resolving order issues via phone, email, chat, or screenshare.
  • Collaborate with fabrication teams to address quality concerns and support production goals to enhance patient experience
  • Develop and align written or electronic design protocols for team modifications.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or completion of a technical trade school program in CAD, drafting or a related field, or equivalent experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
  • Minimum of 4 years of related work experience

Additional Success Factors

 

Required:

  • Advanced experience with CAD and/or 3D modeling
  • Knowledge of anatomy as it applies to orthotic/prosthetic device manufacturing
  • Advanced knowledge of materials, and processes used in orthotic/prosthetic device fabricating.
  • Strong analytical skills to gather data, correctly interpret information and apply designated protocols to design
  • Ability to work independently, train team members, and lead collaborative problem-solving and decision making.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated and dependable with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

 

Preferred:

  • In-depth knowledge of orthotic/prosthetic design using CAD software, anatomy, and biomechanics of the body.
  • Experience with 3D sculpting and printing.
  • Customer service and leadership experience.
