The Senior Manager, Warehouse provides strategic and day-to-day leadership for our distribution center within Hanger’s supply chain network. This role oversees all aspects of inbound, outbound, inventory control, returns, and replenishment activities to ensure operational excellence, cost efficiency, and a safe working environment. The Senior Manager partners cross-functionally with Sales, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Logistics teams to optimize workflows, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and deliver exceptional service to internal and external customers. The position reports directly to the Vice President of Distribution Operations and Logistics.

Your Impact

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

 

  • Lead warehouse operations to achieve established service levels, productivity, and cost objectives.
  • Oversee the planning, scheduling, and execution of all inbound, outbound, replenishment, and inventory management activities.
  • Manage and develop warehouse leadership teams, ensuring accountability, engagement, and alignment with Hanger values and safety standards.
  • Monitor and analyze KPIs to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for operational improvements.
  • Champion Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous process improvement, waste reduction, and efficiency gains.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Procurement, and Logistics to forecast labor and operational budgets and ensure fiscal responsibility.
  • Ensure compliance with all OSHA, DOT, and Hanger safety and quality standards.
  • Lead and support change initiatives, technology implementations, and process standardization efforts across multiple locations.
  • Own the overall performance, initiatives, and continuous improvement program within the Distribution Center (DC), driving operational efficiency, employee engagement, and alignment with broader business goals.

 

Knowledge and Skill:

 

  • Proven leadership experience in warehouse, distribution, or logistics operations.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); familiarity with WMS or ERP systems preferred.
  • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other structured process improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage and motivate diverse teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and prioritize competing demands.
  • Understanding of budget management, KPI development, and operational reporting.
  • Highly organized and adept at time management. Ability to prioritize and separate important from urgent. Consider what is important to each department and configure the best result keeping in line with company goals

   

Job Complexity:

 Works on issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives. Implements strategic policies when selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

 

Supervision Received and Exercised:

 Manages activities of two or more sections or departments through subordinate leaders who exercise full supervision in terms of costs, methods, and staffing. In some instances, this manager may be responsible for managing staff function and may not have subordinate managers.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience and Education:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive leadership experience in warehouse distribution management, including multi-shit or multi-site environments.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Some travel via automobile, airplane and other public transportation may be required. The employee must have, or be eligible to obtain, a valid driver’s license and driving record within the standards outlined within Hanger’s Motor Vehicle Safety Policy and Procedures.
