Reporting to the Director of Professional Education at Hanger and housed within the Marketing Department, this role is a critical operational and logistical leader responsible for managing the planning, coordination, and execution of Hanger’s corporate and partner events.


The successful candidate will oversee a diverse portfolio of in-person and virtual experiences—including Hanger’s flagship annual employee and partner event, key partner meetings, and other large-scale gatherings—ensuring alignment with business goals. The position involves program alignment, budget oversight, vendor management, and resource allocation, with a strong focus on operational excellence and consistency across all events.


The role will project-manage and lead a cross-functional team of 10+ experts supporting the annual event.

Your Impact

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

 

  • Manage and coordinate corporate and partner event logistics of event portfolio with event teams from pre-planning to concept development to completion to include but not limited to registration, communication, agendas, scheduling, travel/transportation, accommodations, menus, liaison with education component/vendors/exhibits, audio-visual, presentation and event production, reporting and feedback analysis.
  • Research and negotiate vendor/venue contracts and provide oversight of vendor/venue commitments to include hotel, travel, AV, décor, scanning, furniture, entertainment, printers, mobile applications, drayage, and transportation and video/photo crews.
  • Develop playbook for annual event and all future events in order to ensure consistency and operational excellence, while updating and fostering continuous improvement.
  • Develop, oversee and actively manage all areas of individual event budgets.
  • Partner with internal teams and external vendors to clearly communicate event execution timing and expectations.
  • Research and recommend new systems and applications supporting conferences and events.
  • Interact with senior leadership to provide updates and recommendations on event execution and planning.
  • Provide on-site event leadership and partnership to deliver event as planned and serve as on-site lead for clear direction, to answer questions and provide solutions.
  • Ensure consistency, efficiency, and high-quality delivery across all events through process optimization and resource sharing.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders across departments to coordinate event needs and maintain alignment with organizational goals.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, consistency, and joyful collaboration through smart, intentional decision-making.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with a degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Business Management, Marketing or Public Relations, or an applicable field.
  • 7+ years of event planning, hotel convention services management, and/or conference planning experience.
  • A valid driver’s license and driving record within the standards outlined within Hanger’s Motor Vehicle Safety Policy and Procedures.

• Well-versed in hospitality trends and technologies
• Knowledge of project management principles, practices, techniques, and tools
• Ability to lead while also keeping others’ accountable throughout the event process
• Ability to analyze and interpret financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and/or projections
• Effective interpersonal skills with strong negotiation knowledge and ability
• Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports
• Ability to work extended hours and travel as required

 

Job Complexity:

Supervision Received and Exercised:

 

Manages activities of two or more sections or departments through subordinate managers who exercise full supervision in terms of costs, methods, and staffing. In some instances this manager may be responsible for managing staff function and may not have subordinate managers.

Pay range of $76,000 to $90,000 annual salary + annual bonus: up to 8% of base pay depending on bonus criteria.  This pay range is posted to comply with wage transparency laws.  Hanger salary ranges vary based on skill, ability, knowledge, geographic location and other variables.
