The Zone Vice President (ZVP) of Clinical Excellence is a senior clinical leader who will co-lead the Mid Atlantic zone in partnership with the ZVP of Operational Excellence. Together, they are jointly accountable for delivering outstanding patient care, driving clinical and financial performance, and advancing Hanger’s mission to empower human potential for their zone.

This role provides strategic and tactical leadership to clinical teams across group practices, ensuring that care delivery is high-quality, consistent, and aligned with both enterprise strategy and local market needs. He/she champions clinical innovation, fosters a culture of excellence and collaboration, and develops the next generation of clinical leaders. By aligning clinical strategy with Hanger’s long-term goals, this leader plays a critical role in shaping the future of care delivery and improving outcomes for the patients and communities we serve.

Your Impact

  • Co-lead the zone with the ZVP of Operational Excellence, fostering a unified leadership approach that balances clinical innovation with operational execution.
  • Lead the group practice strategy within their assigned geography.
  • Provide strategic and tactical leadership of teams responsible for patient care.
  • Oversee clinical team development by identifying skill gaps, supporting career pathways, and cultivating a culture of learning, collaboration, and excellence.
  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives that maximize outcomes, drive growth, and enhance quality and consistency of patient care.
  • Manages the P&L to consistently deliver budgeted results.
  • Implement and monitor execution/adoption of differentiated commercial programs of care.
  • Partner with Business Development and Sales to align clinical growth strategies and support market expansion.
  • Strengthen provider relationships and alignment to support value-based care and revenue growth.
  • Collaborate with the ZVP of Operational Excellence and other stakeholders to evaluate and optimize the zone’s real estate footprint.
  • Identify clinical resource needs and recommend solutions to support long-term scalability.
  • Monitor clinical KPIs (e.g., outcomes, satisfaction, throughput) and use data to drive continuous improvement.
  • Participate in M&A strategy, including due diligence and clinical integration planning.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS or master’s in Orthotics & Prosthetics (O&P), or a post-graduate certificate from a CAAHEP-accredited program, plus successful completion of an NCOPE-accredited residency.
  • Current certification from ABC or BOC.
  • 10+ years of clinician experience (excluding residency).
  • Minimum 10 years of leadership experience in multi-site management.
  • 5+ years of multi-site healthcare operations leadership (clinic, outpatient, or medical group setting).
  • Must reside in or be willing to relocate to one of the following locations: Kentucky, Maryland, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Virginia, Washington DC, or West Virginia
  • Demonstrated ability to manage teams, budgets, and performance metrics.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems, healthcare compliance, and referral development.
  • Must have, or be eligible to obtain, a valid driver’s license and driving record within the standards outlined within Hanger’s Motor Vehicle Safety Policy and Procedures.

  • Proven ability to lead large-scale clinical initiatives, align clinical strategy with enterprise goals, build high performing teams, and drive measurable improvements in quality, outcomes, and patient satisfaction.
  • Familiarity with healthcare operations, including performance metrics, resource planning, and cross-functional collaboration. Ability to co-lead with operational counterparts in a dyad model to ensure unified execution.
  • Skilled in mentoring and developing clinical leaders, fostering a culture of learning and excellence, and building high-performing, engaged teams.
  • Experience leading through transformation, including implementing new care models, scaling best practices, and navigating organizational change.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence across clinical, operational, and executive stakeholders. Comfortable representing clinical priorities in enterprise forums and external engagements.
  • Proficient in interpreting clinical and operational data to inform strategy, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement.
