Fillauer Motion Control, Salt Lake City is a leading manufacturer of robotic artificial arms used by amputee wearers all over the world. We are seeking an Injection Molding Technician to work in our manufacturing department to mold various plastic parts that are used in a variety of upper extremity medical devices such as electro-mechanical hands, wrists, and elbows.

Your Impact

  • Mechanical Aptitude: Have a fundamental understanding of how an injection molding machine works and the ability to safely and effectively operate the machine
  • Attention to Detail: Technician needs to meticulously monitor the process, inspect products for quality, and spot any anomalies
  • Hand Tools: Basic proficiency with hand tools for de-flashing molded parts, minor repairs, and routine maintenance is essential
  • Quality: Utilizes quality standards and practices to ensure good workmanship is achieved and identifies any defective items and handles them according to established quality procedures

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent 
  • Ability to read and comprehend technical work instructions and safety protocols
  • Must have a willingness to learn and be cross trained on the job
  • Ability to use basic hand and power tools (e.g., screw drivers, pliers, cordless drills)

Physical Requirements: 

  • Lifting and Carrying: The ability to lift up to 20 lbs. to move objects, including heavy molds or materials, is required
  • Manual Dexterity and Hand-Eye Coordination: Important for tasks involving machine operation, part inspection, and tool usage
  • Physical Stamina: Have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle repetitive movements

Preferred Qualifications

  • A minimum of 1 year Injection molding and/or manufacturing experience
