Hanger is seeking a Clinical Platforms Solutions Architect to implement and support Hanger’s ecosystem of clinical platforms. This position will support Hanger’s value creation initiatives to transform Hanger’s business processes and support organizational growth and maturity.  The value creation initiatives will include enhancements to current clinical platforms, as well as implementing new systems such as a patient engagement platform and clinician ordering portal. Reporting to the Head of Clinician Digital Experience and Clinical Platforms, this role will be an integral part of the team and a partner for the business and Hanger Digital Technologies (HDT) teams. This role will be responsible for the enhancement of existing platforms, implementation of new systems, and supporting the lifecycle management of Hanger’s clinical ecosystem. 

Your Impact

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Align information technology strategic architecture to business outcomes with defined metrics to ensure the solution meets the service level requirements of the business.
  • Partner with business leaders, clinicians, and IT teams to align technology strategies with organizational goals and well-defined outcomes.
  • Serve as a technical advisor to executive leadership on emerging technologies and digital transformation initiatives.

Solution Architecture & Digital Transformation

  • Define and implement an enterprise architecture strategy to modernize clinical systems and improve interoperability.
  • Lead the design, development, and integration of vendor-supplied and custom-built clinical applications with supply chain, finance, and other enterprise systems.
  • Evaluate and recommend cloud, on-premises, and hybrid solutions to ensure scalability, security, and compliance.
  • Standardize and optimize data flows and API integrations across the organization.

Interoperability & System Integration

  • Establish and enforce interoperability standards (FHIR, HL7, EDI, APIs, etc.) for seamless data exchange between clinical, financial, and supply chain systems.
  • Work closely with clinical, operations, and IT teams to identify integration needs and develop tailored solutions.
  • Oversee the design and execution of data pipelines, ETL processes, and real-time data streaming to support integration between clinical and business systems.
  • Ensure architectural principles are applied to all solutions including an API first approach to meet the non-functional requirements of the capability.

Technical Leadership & Governance

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams, system administrators, and other IT professionals.
  • Develop best practices, architectural standards, and governance frameworks to support digital transformation.  Including but no limited to observability, resiliency, loose coupling and separation of concerns.
  • Ensure solutions comply with healthcare regulations (HIPAA, FDA, etc.) and internal security policies.
  • Work with external vendors and third-party partners to evaluate and implement new solutions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in solution architecture, software development, or enterprise IT.
  • Strong expertise in architecting and integrating disparate systems.
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud), microservices, and containerization.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise integration tools, middleware, and ETL frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and regulatory compliance in healthcare IT.

Additional Success Factors

  • Proven experience in driving large-scale business transformation and digital initiatives.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulatory requirements such as FDA, HIPAA, and ISO standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex business challenges and provide strategic solutions.
  • Proficiency in business process modeling tools and enterprise systems such as ERP and CRM platforms.
  • Experience in the medical industry or healthcare technology sector.
  • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or Agile methodologies.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience apply financial limitations to business model.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with evolving priorities.
