The Reimbursement Specialist III - Remote performs the billing and collection activities necessary to facilitate the payment for the services provided.

Your Impact

  • Prepares reimbursement submissions on behalf of Hanger Clinic for complex claims in a medical or managed care environment
  • Functions as an advocate for and a resource to clinic administration in the areas of reimbursement and managed care
  • Conducts analytical research and provides expertise on pricing/reimbursement, precertification and predetermination matters, claim appeals process and other related steps to ensure that complex claims are processed with a high degree of accuracy
  • Maintains and supports relationships with customers and insurance/managed care organizations to ensure a successful reimbursement program
  • Works closely with field, staff, and may provide training on relevant reimbursement issues. 

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience to include at least one of the following areas: Medicare, reimbursement, medical policy or payor appeal requirements.

Preferred

  • Previous experience working with billing and medical claims personnel in various health care settings

Additional Success Factors

  • Must possess excellent phone etiquette.
  • Knowledge of medical devices and medical terminology.
  • Good communication and listening skills.
  • Detailed oriented and able to working multiple items simultaneously in a fast paced work environment
  • Knowledge and experience using computer with strong keyboarding/data entry skills
  • General knowledge of office software products; e.g. MS Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

Pay range of $19.62 to $26.00 per hour + 5% annual bonus potential.  This pay range is posted to comply with wage transparency laws.  Hanger salary ranges vary based on skill, ability, knowledge, geographic location and other variables.
