Hanger is seeking a Business Systems Analyst IV to implement and support Hanger’s ecosystem of clinical applications. This position will support Hanger’s value creation initiatives to transform Hanger’s business processes and support organizational growth and maturity.  The value creation initiatives will include enhancements to current clinical systems, as well as implementing new systems such as a patient engagement platform and clinician ordering portal. Reporting to the Director of Clinical Systems, this role will be an integral part of the team and a partner for the business and IT teams. This role will be responsible for the enhancement of existing systems, implementation of new systems, and supporting the lifecycle management of Hanger’s clinical ecosystem. 

Your Impact

  • Requirements Gathering & Documentation
    • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (clinical, operational, IT, and executive teams) to identify and document business needs and objectives.
    • Facilitate workshops, interviews, and other discovery activities to elicit user requirements for new and existing clinical technology initiatives.
    • Translate high-level business requirements into detailed functional specifications, user stories, and process flows.
  • Data Analysis & Integration
    • Identify data sources, define data requirements, and develop integration strategies to ensure accurate and efficient data flow across systems.
    • Work with IT and data governance teams to maintain data integrity, security, and compliance across the clinical ecosystem.
  • Solution Design & Validation
    • Partner with technical teams and vendors to design system solutions that meet documented business requirements, including workflow automation, user interface design, and reporting capabilities.
    • Participate in system design reviews, offer recommendations for improvements, and ensure alignment with clinical, coding, and payer requirements.
    • Coordinate and support user acceptance testing (UAT), ensuring issues are accurately recorded, tracked, and resolved prior to go-live.

  • Implementation & Deployment
    • Support project teams in planning and executing the implementation of patient engagement platforms and clinician ordering portals.
    • Develop and maintain project documentation (e.g., project plans, issue logs, risk assessments) to track progress and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
    • Help prepare training materials and lead user onboarding to ensure smooth adoption of new systems and features.
  • Lifecycle Management & Continuous Improvement
    • Monitor and analyze system performance, user feedback, and emerging technology trends to identify opportunities for optimization and innovation.
    • Lead or participate in change request evaluations, enhancements, and upgrades to maintain system relevance and efficiency.
    • Collaborate with business and IT teams to ensure that clinical technology solutions remain compliant with industry regulations, payer policies, and internal standards.
  • Stakeholder Communication & Collaboration
    • Serve as a liaison between clinical staff, IT professionals, third-party vendors, and leadership teams to ensure clear communication and alignment of project goals.
    • Provide regular status updates and coordinate issue resolution to maintain transparency and manage expectations among stakeholders.
  • Value Creation & Strategic Initiatives
    • Contribute to the development and refinement of the organization’s digital health strategy, leveraging technology to deliver enhanced patient care and operational efficiencies.
    • Identify and champion opportunities where business systems can provide a competitive advantage or reduce operational costs.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications

Education

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

 

Experience

 

  • 5+ years of experience in business analysis, systems analysis, or related roles—preferably within healthcare, medical device, or related industries.
  • Demonstrated experience in requirement gathering, process mapping, and system design.
  • Knowledge of clinical workflows, coding practices, and payer policies
  • 5+ years of electronic practice management and EHR experience (NextGen, EPIC, Cerner, eClinicalWorks, etc), with willingness to gain NextGen Certified Professional (NCP) certification within six months of hire.  NextGen PM and EHR experience preferred.
  • Familiar with ITIL (incident, request, problem, and change management)
  • Understanding of software testing methodologies and software development life cycle process
  • Experience with ServiceNow is a plus

 Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in requirements management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps).
  • Familiarity with integration methods (APIs, HL7, FHIR) and data analysis (SQL).
  • Understanding of software development lifecycles (SDLC) and project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall).
  • The ability to write and run basic SQL server queries
