Fillauer is searching for an Engineer Technician (Drafter) to join our team in Chattanooga, TN. In this role you will create and maintain technical drawings and documents and assist with large projects which will require hands on leadership and creative thinking. The purpose of the work we do is to empower those with limb difference and reach greater human potential. The Engineering Technician (Drafter) works under the general supervision of the Manufacturing Engineering Manager to design leading edge lower/upper limb prosthetic devices and works closely with other manufacturing departments.

Your Impact

  • Ensures documentation of all technical drawings and documents are accurate and maintained
  • Creates technical drawings and documents for gages and fixtures used to accurately measure parts
  • Maintains and creates inspection reports for quality control
  • Creates Engineering Change Notices under the instruction of the Manufacturing Engineer Manager
  • Assists quality control in gauge maintenance in accordance with ISO standards
  • Communicates with outside vendors to answer questions about technical drawings
  • Helps to troubleshoot nonconforming parts and assemblies
  • Assists other various quality and production activities as needed

Minimum Qualifications

  • Technical 2 or 4 year degree in computer-aided design (CAD)
  • Must possess computer skills and be proficient in AutoCAD and SolidWorks
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Working knowledge of inspection tools and gauges
  • Understanding of standards relating to gauge and machine compliance
  • Must be self-motivated, willing to learn, and reliable
  • Must work well in a team environment
  • Must be organized with the ability to multi-task, establish priorities, and show keen attention to detail
  • Understanding of tolerances and interactions between mating parts of an assembly
  • Machining background (preferred)
