The primary clinician voice for clinical strategy and program development providing clinical, operational and strategic leadership the Chief Clinical Officer, in partnership with President of Hanger Clinic and Sr Operating Committee, leads the continuous journey to deliver high-value care. Responsible for defining the clinical research strategy and management of all clinical studies and research data collection efforts at Hanger Clinic. Incumbent will provide leadership in several areas related to the broad objective of creating a framework and culture aimed at delivering patient-centered care across the business. Responsible for leadership of Hanger’s Education and Residency programs with responsibility for the Hanger Institute for Clinical Research & Education.

 

As a member of Hanger Clinic Leadership team, the Chief Clinical Officer will support the acceleration of growth through education and the translation of new clinical techniques, products and processes, advance the application of Evidence Based Practices into routine clinical practice. Expand and prioritize the dissemination of evidence and clinical research This leader will be instrumental in moving the organization to a group practice model and the associated care development pathways needed for the ensuring patients receive the best quality care as efficiently as possible with best quality outcomes.

Your Impact

  • Manage and direct the implementation of Evidence Based Practice and Clinical Outcomes as a basic standard of care across Hanger Clinic
  • Implement an active, company-wide data collection at both intake and follow-up in the process of developing a standard of care.
  • Strategic leadership for Hanger’s Education programs including clinical training and skill development of core prosthetic and orthotic patient care
  • Responsible for defining clinical research strategy.
  • Author and/or work with others to develop publications based on the results of the clinical trials.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with academic and community-based physicians, clinicians and payers to assure alignment of strategy and outputs.
  • Represent the company at major annual conferences.
  • Help create strategies for implementing operational protocols and standards across all Hanger facilities; articulate and formalize description of quality patient care in such a way that it can be implemented consistently across the Enterprise
  • Work in conjunction with the clinical experts within Hanger, the Clinic Leadership Team, and the Board of Directors and with external parties including physicians, health plan providers, academic partners and legislators as appropriate.
  • Oversight of the Hanger Institute
  • As a member of the Sr Operating Committee the Chief Clinical Officer serves as the clinical leader as needed for the larger enterprise.
  • Executive management responsibility for National Upper Limb Prosthetic Program and National Orthotic Program

Minimum Qualifications

  • PhD or MD, DO
  • 12+ years of experience in O&P care or rehabilitation.  
  • Certified O&P clinician in good standing or physician with demonstrated leadership experience in Limb Loss & Limb Difference Rehabilitation.  
  • Leadership experience with professional associations
  • Academic affiliation desirable
  • Strong Publication Record
  • Ability to attract External Funding.
