We are seeking an experienced Accounting Supervisor, Fillauer, to assist in leading the Fillauer accounting team. The position will report to the Director of Accounting and Finance, Fillauer and provide customer service to the two executives managing Fillauer. Fillauer which has six locations was recently acquired by Hanger, Inc. and this position is based in Chattanooga, Tennessee. 

 

The position will assist in leading the Fillauer accounting team and will prepare and implement monthly close processes, financial analyses, management reporting, and compliance with company standard operating procedures.  In addition to the preceding, specifically, we need demonstrated success in improving internal controls, financial reporting.

Your Impact

  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and yearly close processes including preparation of journal entries
  • Manage, monitor and develop team of approximately three (3) accounting team members (AP/AR), ensuring consistency and accuracy of monthly close / journal entries, cost accounting, deliverables and creating standard operating procedures consistent with parent company policies
  • Review expenses at a cost center level for accuracy and understanding of key trends
  • Ensure Balance Sheet accounts are properly calculated, supported and reconciled
  • Involved in all aspects of External and Internal audit activities
  • Perform analysis as well as assist in reviewing or enhancing analysis and analytical processes and controls
  • Prepare monthly reporting and analysis of certain key balance sheet and income statement accounts
  • Assist in developing and maintaining internal SOX documentation and controls, reconciliations, monitor operational/industry/regulatory changes and develop new processes and policies to accommodate accordingly
  • Lead implementation of accounting policies and develop standard operating procedures
  • Own and manage the financial close and reporting calendar ensuring milestones are achieved with ease, issues are resolved early and resolution communicated
  • Provide timely responses and deliverables to requests from internal customers from functions including Sales, Customer Service, Procurement, Supply Chain, Technology and department owners
  • Participate in various department-wide initiatives
  • Perform other job duties and ad hoc projects as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • ​​Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required. CPA is a plus
  • Public accounting and / or public company (SOx controls) is a plus
  • Five (5) years of progressive Accounting experience
  • Two (2) years of supervisory experience - preferred
  • Experience and working knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems - preferred
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP
  • Accomplished management experience with a sizable team consisting of employees at a variety of levels
