We are searching for a Composite Technician for our Salt Lake City location. No experience is necessary for this position. We are willing to train the right highly motivated candidate. The Composite Technician is accountable for the beginning stages of creating the prosthetics using a "lay-up" method working with carbon fiber sheets. The Composite Technician position plays a critical role in the success of our company providing components that meet our quality standards and commitment to our overall business goals.

Your Impact

  • Apply multiple layers of material/fiber to surfaces assuring adhesion and repeating the process until the desired thickness, contour, and strength is achieved
  • Fit and smooth successive layers of materials in the proper orientation as necessary to secure build-up free from wrinkles, air pockets, contaminations, and voids
  • Work from work orders, specifications, and written instructions to lay-up composites
  • Use basic composite bagging procedures to complete the lay-up process
  • If required, load and cure composite components in the press load or autoclave
  • Monitor and verify the quality of finished product
  • Document work according to manufacturing order process
  • Promote safe work area and general shop safety

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Less than 1 year of related experience
  • Must have, or be eligible to obtain, a valid driver’s license and driving record within the standards outlined within Hanger’s Motor Vehicle Safety Policy and Procedures. 

Additional Success Factors

  • Comfortable using power tools and standard shop equipment
  • Must be able to read and follow detailed work instructions and prints
  • Capable of lifting loads up to 50 lbs. unassisted
  • Self-motivation and inclination to take ownership of job duties
  • Adhere to company policies and safety procedures
  • Perform basic math functions to include addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication
  • Basic computer skills; open and find data in simple applications
  • English/Spanish a plus
