Responsible for leading business operations of multiple clinics. Primary duty is overseeing the day to day work of the Office Administrative staff in the clinics and interfacing with Revenue Cycle Management. The Area Business Manager I partners with Area Clinic Manager to review and monitor financial reports. Works with Area Clinic Manager in providing strategy and tactics to improve operational and financial performance.

Your Impact

  • Manage day-to-day clinic operations and administrative staff to ensure achievement of daily, weekly and monthly goals for patient care, sales, revenues, cash and accounts receivable.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with Payor(s) to deliver the highest standards of customer service and customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee overall financial management, planning, systems and controls for the organization.
  • Reviews work to measure meeting of objectives; WIP/CSR, inventory, and fabrication tracking.
  • Maintain quality assurance programs to ensure patient satisfaction with practice services as related to the office staff and clinical documentation.
  • Interface with Hanger functions (real estate, IT, accounting) to address information/service needs. Perform other related project, system and analytical duties as required.
  • Enforce the compliance with HIPAA Privacy Rules to ensure the privacy and security of protected health information.
  • Control/reduce the occurrence of administrative staff turnover through feedback and communication to measure job satisfaction and increase morale.
  • Drive effective use of front office systems and technology, including system conversions and introduction of new tools to improve administrative work processes.
  • May manage clinic expenses and materials to meet or exceed budget projections
  • May develop and execute short- and long-term sales and marketing strategies appropriate to meet and exceed performance goals, enhance referral sources, and expand revenue opportunities.
  • Manage special projects as requested by the Regional / Market leadership.
  • Manages and motivates the administrative and business operations office staff in several clinics.

  • Manages activities of the organization-wide service excellence and patient relations programs.

  • Exercises influence in terms of costs, methods, and staffing in assigned clinics

  • Reports results to regional leadership.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associates degree or equivalent work experience. Bachelor degree in accounting, finance and/or healthcare management preferred.

  • Minimum of six years’ experience of operations management in a healthcare setting, prefer 8 years in Orthotics and Prosthetics.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience hiring, supervising, training, and coaching others. Supervising/managing experience in a multi-site environment preferred.

  • A valid driver’s license and driving record within the standards outlined within Hanger’s Motor Vehicle Safety Policy and Procedures.

Additional Success Factors

  • Strong interpersonal skills and supervisory skills.

  • Strong understanding of financial and accounting practices.

  • Some knowledge of orthotics and/or prosthetics patient care management.

  • Strong knowledge of state, federal, and regional collection and reimbursement laws where applicable and Accounts Receivable (A/R) and cash collection principles.

  • Strong working knowledge of healthcare reimbursement rules and regulations.

  • Ability to develop, coordinate and present training programs.

  • Ability to provide written reports on Accounts Receivable (A/R) analysis and any other job-related topic as needed.

  • Experience managing staff, expense budgets, billing and collections.

  • Demonstrated record of addressing customer / patient issues

  • Required to be proficient in Windows based office technologies (ex. Word, Excel).
