    As our Orthotic & Prosthetic Technician, you will play a large role in empowering human potential by helping patients regain their mobility and independence. Your technical experience will help you fabricate orthoses and positive molds as needed to provide maximum fit and function. Patients will turn to you for the repair and maintenance of orthotic and/or prosthetic devices. Your ability to stay abreast of all latest fabricating techniques will help ensure the best outcomes possible for our patients. Your hands-on experience and expertise as it relates to the properties, materials, and comfort using the appropriate equipment will be an added factor to your success.

    Your Impact

    You will help drive exceptional outcomes by: 

    • Fabricating and repairing orthotic and/or prosthetic devices, according to Hanger Clinic’s quality and quantity standards.
    • Helping educating patients on the application, use, care, and expected outcome for DME products as per the physician’s instructions and manufacturer recommendations
    • Contacting suppliers to order orthotic fabrication materials and maintain inventory of items used during fabrication process.
    • Adhering to all safety regulations; complying with Medicare and other governmental regulations; complying with blood borne and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements; and maintaining a safe, clean and orderly work environment.
    • Performing other related duties as required

    Minimum Qualifications

    • High school diploma or GED required.
    • A valid driver’s license and driving record within the standards outlined within Hanger’s Motor Vehicle Safety Policy and Procedures.
    • Technical training school or 2 years experience preferred.

    • Knowledge and hand skills needed to fabricate and repair prostheses (artificial limbs) and orthoses (orthopedic braces) according to patient measurements, casts and in compliance with a physician's prescription
    • Mechanical ability and hand-eye coordination to use laboratory tools safely and effectively.

    • Good interpersonal and verbal skills for communicating with others.
    • Ability to work effectively as a team member.
