    As the Director of Financial Reporting, you will report directly to the Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer within the Hanger Accounting and Finance Department.  In this critical role, you will serve as the subject matter expert and be responsible for leading the preparation of all external SEC reporting for the Company.  You will enjoy the ability to combine your unique blend of professional and technical skills to ensure that our patients, employees, referral sources, shareholders, and the markets remain informed with great transparency the results of our efforts on behalf of all of those we serve.


    You will lead and develop a small team responsible for SEC reporting, acquisition accounting and intangible valuations. In conjunction with overall supervision, you will collaborate to perform various hands-on tasks as it pertains to each of the areas listed above.  A key component of this role is your ability to communicate and collaborate with cross- functional internal teams and external auditors as we perform the complex steps and actions required to lead, manage, and review the preparation of all external SEC reporting for Hanger, Inc.

    Your Impact

    • Lead the preparation and review of the consolidated financial statements, including SEC reports on Form 10-Q, Form 10-K and Form 8-K
    • Liaise with third-party vendor to ensure proper XBRL tagging and EDGAR submission
    • Perform research and analysis on high level SEC and technical accounting issues to determine appropriate accounting treatment and related financial disclosures
    • Lead the preparation and review of the monthly/quarterly financial statement packages distributed to Management and the Company’s Board of Directors
    • Participate in the Company’s monthly close process, as needed
    • Lead the preparation and review of the consolidated cash flow statement monthly
    • Lead the annual valuation of indefinite lived intangible assets with the assistance of external valuation consultants
    • Work closely with external & internal auditors to determine effectiveness of internal controls surrounding the financial reporting process in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley and company policies and procedures
    • Lead the accounting for acquisitions (i.e. purchase accounting)
    • Perform monthly reconciliation of key accounts and various financial analyses in the Finance Area to monitor the accounts of the acquired companies in the post-close integration process
    • Work cross functionally and bridge the operational concerns with US GAAP as well as tax issues
    • Review filing of US Census forms

    Minimum Qualifications

    To be formally considered for this key position within the team, you must have achieved all of the following required minimal qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
    • Ten (10) years professional accounting experience to include SEC reporting within a publicly traded company with a demonstrated ability to perform technical accounting research, partner successfully, and present to C-Suite, stakeholders, and/or national office
    • Eight (8) years Big 4 public accounting experience may be considered in lieu of professional accounting experience within a publicly traded company


    The following experience is strongly preferred:

    • Three (3) years of experience leading a SEC management function
    • Demonstrated experience with Workiva WDesk Online Reporting
