    This is a great opportunity to join a $1B revenue company Hanger, Inc. as a Director of Accounting & Finance of the Southern Prosthetic Supply (“SPS”) Division, located in Alpharetta, Georgia.  This position oversees the general accounting and financial reporting functions and associated systems and processes for SPS’s shared services including Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Inventories, Financial Reporting, and other areas as assigned.   Directs the establishment, implementation or improvements of SPS’s accounting department structure, roles, responsibilities, policies and procedures, while assisting company executives by providing financial information to be used in making economic decisions about SPS’s future. 

    Your Impact

    • Oversees the general accounting function of over 20 employees, including cash collections, financial reporting, and balance sheet management, for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports
    • Ensures that financial records are maintained in compliance with company policies and in alignment with all regulatory guidelines including, but not limited to US GAAP, SEC reporting timelines and internal control requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (“SOX”)
    • Reviews financial reports, account reconciliations, and other documents under responsibility to ensure accuracy and compliance
    • Coordinates annual internal and external audits; responsible for implementing agreed upon recommendations related to areas of responsibility, resulting from audit findings including remediation of issues identified in SOX key controls
    • Manages SPS’s annual corporate budgetary process and monthly updates to forecasts
    • Establishes, improves and maintains systems and controls that verify the integrity of all accounting and financial systems, processes, and data
    • Ensures that computer programs used in the performance of financial/accounting business transactions and reports continue to operate as required; works with Information Technology to ensure adequate infrastructure and security for such systems, and ensures that accounting requirements continue to be met
    • Ensures that areas of responsibility are staffed with qualified personnel capable of meeting the objectives and responsibilities of the area; responsible for continued development of staff; leads and directs accounting professional and support staff through subordinate managers
    • Oversees accurate and timely processing of transactions in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and inventory
    • Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports
    • Provides timely responses and deliverables to requests from internal customers including Corporate Accounting, Product Accounting, Sales & Marketing, Procurement, and Supply Chain
    • Performs other job duties and ad hoc projects as assigned

    Minimum Qualifications

    • BS in Accounting Required
    • CPA Required
    • 10 plus years of progressive experience in accounting leadership positions with involvement in close process
    • At least five years of experience working for public companies (or significant subsidiaries) or with large accounting firm auditing public companies
    • At least five years of experience within companies with inventories
    • At least five years overseeing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
    • At least five years of experience in business unit budgeting, forecasting, planning, analysis,
