Could This Be For You?

The Director, Supplier Diversity will own and implement the organizations Supplier Diversity Program to include identifying, directing, planning, managing, and coordinating activities to integrate best in class diverse suppliers into the organizations supply chain. In partnership with the Chief Supply Chain Officer, the Director, Supplier Diversity will develop customer-driven solutions with diverse suppliers.

Your Impact

  • Advocate for contracting opportunities for these diverse suppliers as products and services are procured for/through the organization
  • Establish data gather systems and processes to prepare required reporting, certification, monitoring and compliance to government agencies and as required by health system partners
  • Drive the development and implementation of strategies that will fuel growth in supplier diversity expenditures and sustainable best practices
  • Create internal and external brand awareness of supplier diversity program through participation and networking within and outside with organizations that advocate for diverse businesses
  • Develop internal training and awareness tools that advance the diversity of the supplier base
  • Create a process for aligning with sourcing decision makers to ensure inclusion of diverse suppliers on request for proposals and
bid opportunities
  • Generate scorecards for reporting progress against diverse supplier goals, to various internal stakeholders and levels of management
  • Effectively engage, communicate, and influence internal decision-makers for strategic planning
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures to ensure contract compliance
  • Conduct and attend minority program meetings, procurement fairs, and other outreach activities
  • Participate on committees and organizations related to supplier diversity
  • Identify methods and opportunities for program expansion
  • Assess and analyze effective tools for classifying, registering, and managing supplier relationships
  • Stay abreast of regulatory changes, trends and information concerning supplier diversity
  • Establishes and assures adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements.
  • Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of the company.
  • Participates in corporate development of methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for projects, programs, and people.
  • Ensures budgets and schedules meet corporate requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management or other Business related major

  • Five (5) years of progressive experience in supplier diversity including purchasing activities

  • Two (2) years of leadership experience in a supervisory role

  • A valid driver’s license and driving record within the standards outlined within Hanger’s Motor Vehicle Safety Policy and Procedures.

  • Strong interpersonal, relationship building and communication skills (both written and in person)

  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills including:  Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook

  • Analytical and strategic planner; as well, innovative and creative strategist

  • High personal integrity and ethics who following standard operating procedures (SOP)

  • Experienced in managing procurement activities and delivering procurement value

  • Strong financial and analytical skills

  • Detail oriented and excellent ability to develop options and solutions that are practical and executable
