The Information Technology Architect establishes and evolves application architectures that align with business strategies and creates model driven system architectures.  Provides strategic technical leadership for applications under development or major system enhancements for existing applications.  Responsible for the planning and deployment of applications, data and infrastructure platforms.  Researches, reviews, analyzes, recommends and implements enterprise information standards, architectures and governance processes.

Responsibilities

 

  • Create and maintain five year enterprise technology plan for the organization
  • Drive Application Portfolio Rationalization
  • Determine enterprise Business Intelligence, Cloud, E-Mail Retention, Information Management, Mobility, and Unified Communication policies and strategies
  • Map technology portfolio to functional areas of the organization
  • Maintain technology road-maps for the different business units of the organization
  • Socialize enterprise plan informally within the IT organization via presentation as well as virtual teams
  • Represent Enterprise Architecture and enforce standards on technology projects
  • Develop solutions for enterprise issues given requirement

 

 

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Ability to effectively create and implement design and development standards
  • Demonstrated knowledge of operating systems, network hardware and software, systems management, storage systems, processing infrastructure, capacity, scalability, and cross platform systems management
  • Solid understanding  of database management, principles and concepts
  • Expert ability to use applicable computer operating systems and programming languages
  • Solid understanding of mechanisms required for satisfying the architectural attributes for a system
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical staff
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to effectively manage internal and external staff to ensure exceptional commitment to organizational objectives
  • Ability to make sound evaluative judgments
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated excellent project management skills
  • Ability to effectively organize and prioritize own work and that of others within a dynamic environment
  • Aptitude and desire to learn and apply new technologies

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science or a related technical field.  Master’s degree preferred
  • 5-7 years of experience in the development of critical applications for multi-users systems
  • 2+ years of technical leadership and architecture experience
  • Ability to effectively create and implement design and development standards
  • Demonstrated knowledge of operating systems, network hardware and software, systems management, storage systems, processing infrastructure, capacity, scalability, and cross platform systems management
  • Solid understanding  of database management, principles and concepts
  • Expert ability to use applicable computer operating systems and programming languages
  • Solid understanding of mechanisms required for satisfying the architectural attributes for a system.
