Overview

Hanger, Inc., is preparing to emerge from a financial restatement period with a strong controls environment and an efficient accounting and financial operation. We are seeking a Sr. Technical Accountant with strong accounting/analytical skills and experience working in a fast-paced and changing environment to join our Revenue Accounting team. The Revenue Accounting team is an integral part of the accounting and finance department.  This specialized team is tasked with being the subject matter experts for the enterprise’s accounting and reporting of revenue and receivables. This a highly visible role which provide reports and analysis to senior management related to revenue, accounts receivable, and various ad-hoc projects. 

 

The successful candidate will have both a solid understanding of accounting principles as well as demonstrating excellent business insight in order to anticipate and deliver actionable information on a timely basis.  Having the ability to work in a cross-functional, collaborative manner with other departments such as IT will be very important in helping to achieve the team’s goals.  The ideal candidate thrives on finding solutions, automating processes, and are always continuing to look for improvement opportunities.

 

Intermediate to advance Excel skills are necessary to improve, build and maintain the department’s various models.  Being able to work with a “sense of urgency” and maintain composure under strict deadlines coupled with a “can do” attitude are also key attributes for this role’s success.    

Responsibilities

  • Lead month-end, quarter-end management reporting process for the revenue/receivables cycle
  • Perform in depth and insightful complex analysis of revenue, receivables, cash collections and write-offs by collecting, analyzing, reporting, and interpreting operational, financial and statistical data
  • Improve financial performance by analyzing results; monitoring variances; identifying trends; recommending actions to Senior Management
  • Reviews financial statements for compliance with GAAP and other internal policies
  • Lead special projects and have the responsibility to implement value added solutions

Qualifications

 

  • Accounting Degree required MBA(preferred)
  • CPA required
  • 8+ years of experience in accounting
  • Healthcare or Retail industry experience preferred
  • Big 4 experience preferred
  • Proficiency in creating well-designed Excel spreadsheets from complex data sets that are transparent, complete, accurate and free of errors
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly and learn new tasks independently
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills and proven ability to be meticulous in the details
  • Experience driving automation and continuous process enhancements
  • Ability to communicate with a level of sophistication and effectiveness to all levels of the organization (e.g. Senior Management, peers) and across the organization (e.g. IT, Business, Operations and Finance)
